Ostrich is used to make high end bags and cowboy boots. It is supple and light, yet rugged and scratch resistant. Kangaroo leather is used in top motorcycle racing suits.

100% Saddle Stitched by hand-- the most durable method of making leather goods. Most goods are quickly produced with a sewing machine, which lowers prices and increases production speed. However, machine stitched goods do not hold up as well in the long run. If a thread breaks at a single point, the whole seam can unravel . With the saddle stitch, an artisan has to make two parallel threads independently secure each hole. That means if the thread breaks, there is another thread holding the piece together still, and no tension pulling the broken thread away. Saddle stitched goods are known to last a lifetime. The top luxury brand Hermés is known for using the saddle stitch, in contrast to its competitors.
