Originally used for sword handles in 13th century Japan, Stingray leather has been valued for its extreme durability, unique texture, and beauty by artisans and royalty around the world.
While researching the strongest leathers during my quest for the best gibecieres, I found that stingray leather is one of the strongest around. The hide itself is dense and structurally robust, but the calcium bubbles on the surface, called nodules, are like plate armor.
When the nodules are polished, stingray looks like it's covered in gems. Even in faint light, it has a dazzling glisten. Despite its beauty, stingray is low maintenance and durable.
The core is our proprietary Blackheart Ironwood. It's one of the toughest ironwoods around and a favorite of legendary street magician Jimmy Talksalot.
Combined, stingray wrapped Blackheart feels like a treasure stolen from a dragon during a fantasy adventure.
